Enji Studio Jewelry (Est. 2014) only uses fair trade, reclaimed gold and silver and ethically sourced diamonds and gemstones. Their packaging and advertising materials are constructed with recycled paper and clothing. Believing their actions have a lasting, global impact, they look for ways to lessen their footprint. Enji Studio’s website states they are “ethical with an edge.”
Owner and designer Niki Grandics has built her brands on a connection with these values. The Rana Plaza Factory collapse in Bangladesh, India greatly influenced her decision to be mindful. As such, she donates her time to Ethical Metalsmiths, the Chicago Responsible Jewelry Conference, and the Women’s Jewelry Association, where she is a PR chair, and the Alliance for HOPE.
Among her notable pieces are Sahar Agate earrings, a Vitoria Rutilated Hematite Pendant, and the Hedda Ring.
Grandics is a GIA Graduate Jeweler and has a BA in Applied Design and a BS in Marketing from San Diego State University. She won the 2016 Halstead Grant Award and the 2014 Windgate Fellowship Award given by the Center of Craft, Creativity and Design
She’s has staged exhibitions in galleries in the U.S. and Europe. Her creations have been featured in Glamour and Bride magazines.
