CKC Sons aka C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons (Est. 1869) is considered to be one of the finest Heritage jewelers in the world. It was founded in Bangalore, India by Cotha Krishniah Chetty in 1869. Cotha, who began by selling colored beads to the British army, eventually established his own store in the ‘Cantonment Area,’ India’s jewelry district.
The brand is renowned for being the preferred jeweler to over 21 Indian royal kingdoms, including the Maharaja of Dharampar, the Nizam of Hyderabad, the Maharaja of Travancore, and many other royal families in south and central India.
Some of the house’s most famous, eclectic pieces include silver temple doors, inaugural keys, infantry head gear, swords with embedded precious gems, life-size caskets, baby carriages and even a gold cricket bat.
Thanks to this diversified approach, CKC Sons has been the leading jewelry industry firm in India. They were the first to introduce the illustrious Tolkowsky brand (creators of the round brilliant diamond cut) to India; as well as being the first to start a DeBeer’s Forevermark brand in India to be the retailer in all of India with the largest showroom.
Currently, CKC Sons boasts six showrooms and ateliers across Bangalore, India. They have collaborated with fine jewelers, Mappin & Webb and the Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company, both located in London. They have also partnered with Rolex; whose personalized gold wrist watches are embossed with the CKC Sons stamp.
In addition, CKS Sons is known for their philanthropic endeavors including scholarship programs, school adoptions, medical assistance for disadvantaged students, and contributions to the Paul Harris Fellows/Rotary International.
