Santagostino Gioielli (Est. 1969) is the luxury jewelry brand founded by Leonardo and Angela Santagostino in 1969. Its bracelets, necklaces, rings, and earrings, which appear to celebrate strawberries, candy and enchanted forests, bring a sense of whimsy and charm to jewelry. Brightly colored, beautifully cut stones can comprise a single jewelry piece that contains up to twenty gem varieties making for an explosion of color. This enthusiastic, passionate family run business offers a wondrous world of flowers, bugs and fruits that are of absolutely beautiful quality.
According to the brand’s official website, the pieces are, “Unrepeatable creations that come from a combination of surreal beauty and life, and through ancient manual skills become "works of art." [These are] pieces of wearable art that stand out especially … in the "Unici di Santagostino" line, a patent design conceived for an original woman who loves to stand out.”
In 1989, the Unique Bouquets of Santagostino collection became cult objects to be collected and were also immediately recognizable for their richness, creativity and finesse. Specially chosen gems selected from precious and semi-precious stones as well as lesser-known varieties, - always natural and excellent quality – were interpolated into pieces carved and engraved with expertise by master goldsmiths and artisans. In a single jewel one can also count twenty different varieties of gems all differently worked.
Elaborate combinations of gold threads, perforated masks and tiny settings hold each stone in a precious weave that is invisible on the front while on the back shows all its complexity even in the smallest details. The brand has consolidated over the years and been awarded important prizes in the world of jewelry.
Since 2002, Santagostino pieces have been designed by brilliant daughter, Ilenia Corti, who successfully makes her work a dreamlike universe of poetry and craftsmanship that has been featured in the jewelry tradeshow event, Vicenza Oro.
Corti is a well-known fashion designer who continues the family tradition. Besides collaborating with well-known Italian and French maisons as a stylist, she is in charge of the artistic direction of the Santagostino brand with her brother Emanuele, who oversees the brand’s commercial direction.
Ilenia creates new concepts of jewelry inspired by the world of fairy tales and childhood that feature wristbands, necklaces, rings and earrings. These are unique artifacts that preserve ancient manual workmanship but are also valued in the most avant-garde fashion markets. A collection is always accompanied by a certificate of guarantee destined for a select and chosen international clientele who search for new messages in art and culture.
In January 2015, Santagostino Fine Art Jewelry acquired the TFashion traceability code which ensures an ethical and transparent Italian fashion chain subscribes to a system of voluntary traceability for Italian chambers of commerce. It is a tool supported by all Italian companies that guarantee the origin and safety of their products.
Among the Santagostino collections is Strawberry Frost in which the crystallized nature of winter leaves’ fresh frost enhances brilliance, colors and shapes. Iced strawberries, cold ladybirds and bunnies still dormant from hibernation, are part of this Santagostino creation.
