Charles Edenshaw was a Canadian jeweler, woodcarver, agilite craver, and painter who lived [from 1839 to 1920. Much of his work can be found in the American Museum of Natural History including; rattles, masks, bentwood boxes, totem poles and staffs. All his work is made [from] materials such as wood, argillite, gold and silver. Edenshaw is given the credit for advancing silver and gold engraving into traditional designs.
