Rey Urban (1929 – ????) Born in Stockholm, Sweden, he studied at the College of Art beginning in 1950 and, in 1955, obtained his master letter. He is among the acclaimed Swedish silversmiths who specialize in unconventional jewelry and ornaments.
He started his company in 1954 during his education at Konstfack Stockholm and had several exhibitions in Sweden and abroad.
The company is family owned and since the beginning of the 1980’s has been overseen by Rey’s son Carl Urban. In 1954, the company moved into its current location. All manufacturing is done in-house.
The company is also known for its work in public spaces including candelabras and other silver pieces in at least 15 churches. Examples of Rey Urban’s work and designs can also be seen in the National Museum in Stockholm.
