Robert Procop Exceptional Jewels

Robert Procop Exceptional Jewels (Est. 2000) is a Los Angeles based jewelry house that also sells its designs on the internet. From an early age, Robert Procop seemed primed for success in jewelry design. He spent summers in his father’s engineering plant, becoming proficient in fine precision tooling. As a teen, he worked in his brother-in-law’s pawnshop learning about diamonds and their value as well as how to trade them. In fact, his career as a trader supported him throughout his college years and enabled him to open his first store, Diamonds on Rodeo on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.

Procop’s reputation as a fine jeweler was secured when he won a presidential commission from Ronald Reagan. Procop continued to gain fans and devotees before he became even better known as a business leader.

He was made CEO of the Crown Jewels of London; the first American ever to do so. Other royal commissions included: appraisal of the Royal Crown of India, creating the Malaysian Crown Jewels and the recreation of the Marie Antoinette Necklace. He also led the restructuring of Asprey and Garrard, a well-known and respected British jewelry company. He divided it into separate entities: Gerrard and Co., and Asprey – both of which he headed as CEO.

Robert continued to further his expertise by learning from masters of different disciplines. He befriended Master Diamond Cutter Gobi Tolkowsky from whom he learned various cutting styles. He also studied under Master Emerald Cutter Adolfo Argotty. Procop’s travels took him to Thailand as well as back to the United States where he learned how to cut rubies and sapphires.

Aside from his overseeing his businesses, Robert expanded his reach into philanthropy by collaborating with actress Angelina Jolie on a collection that benefitted her charity, the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict. The profits donated opened schools in Afghanistan. A necklace from the collection was chosen specifically for permanent placement in the Smithsonian Museum.

Procop’s other charity work involves the Los Angeles, non-profit organization, The House of Ruth that houses battered women and their children. Brooke Shields has also given her support to this charity by creating a new collection with Robert called, Legacy Brooke. Proceeds from this collection helps fund several projects for The House of Ruth.

Robert has also launched three other charities: TLC Missionaries, Port Authority Rock to Rescue 9/11 Benefits, and the construction of the Kids Future Now Recreation Center.

These days, Procop is focused on running his LA based jewelry house and selling designs from his website.
