Born in 1851, Verger took up an apprenticeship at 11 years old in Paris under the famous watchmaker, Lepine. Verger watched Lepine create for influential figures like Louis XV, Louis XVI and Napoleon. After serving in the Franco-Prussian War, Ferdinand Verger moved to Paris to start his company. Verger Freres was founded in 1872 and specializes in watches for women. In 1901, he inherited Lepine’s company and created monumental partnerships with other artisans: Paillet, Maikovski, Lalique and Becker.
